Handcrafted smoke cleansing bundles made from wild-harvested, sustainably gathered plants of the Colorado Front Range. Also known as smoke wands or herb bundles, each bundle is shaped by the landscape and season it comes from, featuring locally sourced botanicals such as artemisia species, rabbitbrush (Ericameria nauseosa), and seasonal flowers including sunflower, chamomile, rose, and bee balm.

Rooted in Western folk herbal traditions, smoke cleansing has long been practiced as a way to mark transitions, refresh sacred spaces, and create intentional ritual moments. Each plant brings its own symbolic and aromatic qualities to the smoke, creating a botanical offering that connects you with the land, the seasons, and the plants themselves.

Artemisias, including sagebrush and mugwort, are among the oldest cleansing herbs in Western herbal and folk traditions, traditionally associated with protection, dreamwork, intuition, and purification. Rabbitbrush, a resilient Colorado native, offers a clear, resinous smoke and represents adaptability, endurance, and connection to place. Seasonal botanicals add their own medicine and symbolism: sunflower carries solar vitality and joy, chamomile brings peace and gentleness, rose supports heart-centered ritual, and bee balm connects with clarity, breath, and vitality.

These bundles are created as a locally rooted alternative to commercially harvested white sage. White sage (Salvia apiana) is a sacred plant with deep cultural significance for Indigenous communities and has faced concerns around overharvesting and misuse. These bundles honor the plants of our own region while practicing respectful and sustainable harvesting.

No two bundles are exactly alike. Each one reflects the season, the land, and the botanical offerings available at the time of harvest.

Seasonal Botanicals

Each bundle is a reflection of the land and season in which it is harvested. Additional botanicals may be included depending on what the Colorado landscape is offering in abundance at the time of gathering. These seasonal additions are chosen with intention, honoring the plants that are thriving in their natural cycle and allowing each bundle to carry the unique character, medicine, and spirit of that moment in the landscape.

• Artemisia Species — Traditionally used in Western folk practices for cleansing, protection, dreamwork, and divination. Associated with thresholds, intuition, and transformation.
• Rabbitbrush (Ericameria nauseosa) — A Colorado native botanical traditionally valued for resilience, adaptability, and connection to the local landscape. Its aromatic smoke creates a clear, grounding atmosphere.
• Sunflower — A solar botanical associated with vitality, confidence, joy, and the warmth of the sun.
• Chamomile — Traditionally used for peace, calm, relaxation, and gentle emotional restoration.
• Rose — Associated with love, beauty, compassion, and heart-centered ritual.
• Bee Balm (Monarda spp.) — Traditionally valued for clarity, breath, vitality, and connection with the natural world.
• Lavender — Traditionally valued for its calming, cleansing, and protective qualities. Its gentle floral smoke is associated with peace, relaxation, purification, and restoring harmony to a space.

Suggested Use

Light the tip of the bundle until it catches, then gently blow out the flame so the plants begin to smolder.

Allow the smoke to move through your space, around your body, or over ritual tools and objects. Open a window or door as you work so air can circulate and the smoke has a path to move.

When finished, extinguish the bundle completely in a heatproof dish, shell, or bowl.
